Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a wonderful form of deeply centering touch that provides an energy balancing experience. It is grounded in Eastern healing philosophies and methods that have been practiced for thousands of years. Asian health practitioners developed techniques based on the premise that good health depends on a balanced flow of vitality in the body, in particular, the energy that flows through a system of channels called meridians. Shiatsu evolved in this tradition to integrate a variety of techniques including pressure, stretching and exercise. Lotions are not used, the technique involves gentle pressure and stretching that is applied to various points on the body by fingers, thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and/or feet.

Shiatsu is used to maintain health, vitality and stamina in the body, to strengthen the internal organs and prevent energy form getting blocked. In general you will find Shiatsu most useful in raising your energy level, making you more healthy, strong and resistant to disease.
